In association with the Ladybower Trail Marathon, this super fast 10 mile trail run will wind you through the beautiful Derwent Valley. Surrounded by the elevated fells of the peakdistrict national park you will be treated to some hard packed trails, and one of the most scenic trail runs in the area.
Race Registration will take place from 8.00am. The registration tent is located down by the dam wall, which can seen from the information centre located by the main car park - Look out for the signs, it will be well marked.
Race start time
Race will start at 9:30am. Please ensure all race numbers are visible to the marshals, as you will need to check in at each feed station on route. The route will be fully marked with yellow signs displaying a black arrow. Please stick to the route.
Toilet amenities will be open from 7am and are located in the main visitors car park. Hot and cold snacks including tea and coffee are available from the kiosk also located in the main visitors car park.
Please ensure you leave plenty of time before the race starts to park, it can fill up pretty quickly as especially if the weather is good. We recommend using the lay bys on the way down to the main visitors car park as they are free. However, there is a pay and display car park in the main visitors centre also.
The course has water and feed stations at mile 5, mile 10, mile 15 and mile 20. We would highly recommend also carrying some fluids with you, especially if the weather report shows a hot and humid day. Marshall's will be placed around the course should you require any assistance. Edale Mountain Rescue Team will also be on hand, should we require them for any medical emergencies.
In the Derwent Valley, mobile phone signal is virtually non existent. Therefore, it is VERY IMPORTANT to check in at every feed station on route - failure to do so will result in a instant disqualification.
A final email will be sent out prior to the race.
I think this covers everything however, should you have any further questions about the race or any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me by either email or phone.
